When Should It Be Done?

Rolandini Brothers Masonry recommends that to keep your chimney working properly, inspections should be done every other year. For a fireplace that burns a quart of wood during the peak season, a yearly inspection is beneficial. For heating appliances, every other year will suffice. For gas fireplaces inspections completed every 5 years is ideal. And if your fireplace is an oil-burning fireplace, every other year is sufficient.
